My name is Farij Mutlaq Al Zalabih. I am in charge of managing and operating Wadi Rum Trek. My family still lives in the wonderful Jordanian desert, inhabiting a traditional goat-hair tent. They still raise camels, goats and sheep. They move to different places depending on the season and the greenish places where animals can gaze. All our guides grew up in Wadi Rum and since childhood they learnt about life in the desert. From distinguishing the different wildlife to survival skills, they preserved the traditional bedouin roots. In particular, they are capable of finding water and pasture for animals in the desert, and know all the secret roads used only by bedouins. Together, we live a settled but traditional life in Rum, preserving our culture and history at the edges of the desert. We are eager to share our expertise, spreading knowledge about the history of Wadi Rum. The Valley has been a much frequented caravan route, home of different groups for thousands of years. With the many peaks in our desert, there are endless hiking and scrambling possibilities. You can also explore the history of our desert in a jeep or on a camel. Stay at our newly renovated camp in your private tent, relax with the view of sunset, a glass of traditional bedouin tea or wander around to admire the magnificent rock formations. We offer twin rooms, double rooms and family rooms to our guests.
